Job description

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Database Administrator (SSIS ETL/Python) position! This is a 6-18 months contract and will be hybrid on site 4 days in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead the support and optimization of a data warehouse environment comprised of 10-20 databases, managing all data intake processes and ETL workflows using SSIS
  • Design and implement RDBMS solutions that align with both short and long-term business requirements, serving as the technical architect on complex database projects
  • Drive database migration initiatives to CoLo and Microsoft Azure environments, with future involvement in Azure Data Factory for ETL processes
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for data movement, transformation, and consumption across multiple database platforms
  • Provide database support for on-premise vendor applications and manage a shared database environment for in-house web and client applications, including provisioning access and data management
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for RDBMS-related initiatives, providing guidance on vendor/product analysis, functional specifications, and optimal database designs
  • Mentor and train less experienced database personnel, conducting knowledge transfer sessions and overseeing their development in RDBMS functionality and testing
  • Collaborate with application owners and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and efficient database solutions
  • Manage and oversee execution of complex project plans, ensuring proper task dependencies, issue mitigation, and integrated testing coordination
  • Maintain internal control standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, audit points, and system maintenance protocols

What You'll Need to Have:
  • 8+ years of hands-on RDBMS experience with expertise in database engineering, design, and optimization
  • Strong proficiency in SSIS for ETL development, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain complex data integration workflows
  • Solid programming skills in Python for data manipulation, automation, and integration tasks
  • Mainframe experience with understanding of legacy system data structures and integration patterns
  • Proven track record leading large-scale RDBMS enhancements, conversions, and production problem resolution across multiple concurrent projects
  • Mastery-level knowledge of relational database management systems, including architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Strong project and task management skills with ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience leading issue resolution efforts and providing technical guidance

Pay Range: $70-75/hr
