Job Title: Senior Software Developer, CAD Applications (C++/Python)
Location: Hybrid - Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Job Type: T4 Contract
Experience: 7+ Years        

Rate: CAD 70 - 75 per hour

Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Software Developer, CAD Applications (C++/Python) to join a high-performing engineering team supporting a Fortune 500 product company in the Media and Entertainment industry. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of cross-platform CAD application features, components, plugins, and supporting tools while collaborating with distributed engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance application features, components, plugins, and tools for CAD software platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance software using C++.
  • Develop automation and scripting solutions using Python.
  • Build and support cross-platform applications across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable and maintainable software solutions.
  • Manage source code and collaborate using Git and GitHub workflows.
  • Support continuous integration processes using orchestration tools such as Jenkins.
  • Utilize artifact and package management solutions including Artifactory, NuGet, and Conan.
  • Apply secure coding practices and leverage security scanning tools throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Must-Have Skills

  • 5 to 10 years of experience as an Application Developer or similar software development role.
  • Strong C++ programming experience developing complex software products, systems, or components.
  • Solid Python programming or equivalent scripting language experience.
  • Experience developing cross-platform applications on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Strong proficiency with Git and GitHub.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with CI/CD orchestration tools such as Jenkins.
  • Experience with artifact and package management systems including Artifactory, NuGet, and Conan.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and security scanning tools such as Black Duck and Gara Sign.
