Job description

Essential Functions:                                                                                                

  • Design, develop, and manage enterprise network architecture for datacenter, campus, branch, cloud, and multi-tenant environments.
  • Create scalable, secure, reliable, and reusable network solutions.
  • Lead engineering efforts from design through implementation and operational support.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Manage complex multi-vendor, multi-protocol network environments.
  • Design routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, security, and cloud networking solutions.
  • Define standards for network infrastructure and operational consistency.
  • Lead major network transformations and modernization projects.
  • Serve as escalation point for critical network incidents.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Develop proactive monitoring and observability strategies.
  • Drive reliability, availability, and performance improvements.
  • Design and implement network automation solutions.
  • Develop tools, scripts, and workflows that eliminate manual effort.

Required Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or qualification in an IT related discipline or equivalent technical and business experience.
  • 7+ years of enterprise networking experience.
  • CCNP certification or equivalent experience.
  • Other experience or certifications valued
    • Cisco CCDE
    • Cisco CCIE
    • Fortinet NSE or higher
    • Juniper JNCIA or higher
    • Palo Alto PNSA or higher
  • Strong expertise in routing, switching, wireless, and network design principles
  • Strong experience supporting firewalls and VPN technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, and BGP.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud networking.
  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with network automation (Powershell, Python, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Experience in a managed services or service provider environment.
  • Network device firmware management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, storage, and network layers
  • Experience with the following is valued but not required:
    • Monitoring technologies (LogicMonitor, Azure, Nectus, SolarWinds, etc.)
    • Network security technologies

Physical, Mental Requirements and Work Environment: 

  • Candidates local in Indianapolis, work hybrid onsite work schedule, generally 3 days a week, and have dependable transport for any on-site visits required.
  • Will be on-call and expected to provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Must be able to work on a computer for long periods.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed.  Not more than 25%.
