Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with expertise in Backstage.io, Cloud Platforms, Kubernetes, Terraform, and DevOps. The ideal candidate will design, build, and maintain an internal developer platform to improve developer productivity and streamline software delivery. This role requires a strong software engineering background, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset, and a passion for Developer Experience (DevX).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and manage an internal developer platform using Backstage.io.
  • Develop custom Backstage plugins, software templates, and manage the Backstage Software Catalog.
  • Enhance Developer Experience (DevX) through self-service tools and workflow automation.
  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Crossplane.
  • Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
  • Manage software artifacts using JFrog Artifactory.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Implement observability and monitoring using Datadog.
  • Apply SRE principles to improve platform reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot distributed systems and collaborate with development teams to resolve platform issues.
  • Support API development and integration using REST and GraphQL.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience with Backstage.io (Developer Portal, Plugins, Software Catalog, Scaffolder).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
