Solutions Engineer โ€“ Radio Frequency Geolocation (RFGL)

As an RFGL Sales Engineer, you will be pivotal to the Space Reconnaissance business unit's achievements by providing technical support for Spire's RF geolocation capabilities. Your focus will be on delivering space-based signals intelligence (SIGINT) and emitter geolocation services to US and allied government clients. Collaborating with account executives and product leaders, you will understand mission needs, develop compelling RFGL solutions, and accelerate deal progression. Your technical expertise and customer-centric approach will be crucial in advancing essential national security and ISR missions.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for RFGL prospects and existing customers throughout the sales cycle.
  • Design customized solutions for RF geolocation needs, leveraging Spireโ€™s LEO-based TDOA/FDOA capabilities.
  • Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and documentation that clearly communicate Spireโ€™s RFGL value to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, RF operations, and product teams to define and prioritize customer requirements.
  • Translate customer mission objectives into practical geolocation configurations, delivery formats, and SLAs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on space-based RF collection, emitter detection, and signals analysis workflows.
  • Identify and address technical gaps in the RFGL portfolio and contribute to roadmap development.
  • Contribute to pricing estimates, proposals, and data trials in partnership with account teams.
  • Support government tenders, RFPs, and partner-led engagements focused on RF intelligence.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in signals intelligence (SIGINT), RF engineering, or a related satellite ISR domain.
  • Demonstrated success in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or systems integration.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for various stakeholders.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment supporting US and international defense customers.
  • Proficiency in Linux and scripting tools (e.g., Python) for RF data analysis.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with RF spectrum operations, TDOA/FDOA geolocation, GNSS signals, and VHF/UHF/L-band emitters.
  • Knowledge of space systems, payloads, satellite tasking, and ground processing pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like IQEngine, MATLAB, or RF signal simulators.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based RF data processing architectures (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, containerized pipelines).
  • Understanding of multi-INT fusion including AIS, radar, and GNSS alongside RFGL.
  • Experience in proposing or responding to RFI/RFPs in the defense or intelligence sector.
