Role: Senior Network Engineer/Architect
Duration: 12 month extendable contract
Location: Lake Forest, CA
Job description
We are seeking a Network Service Engineer who will be an integral part our global communication network engineering teams. The network architected and designed by this team enables Panasonic on flight communication growth at a large scale and is the IP foundation for our next generation satellite multimedia communication service.
The ideal candidate is expected become a SME taking part in architectural, design, evaluation activities on solutions pertaining to IP traffic management & shaping, AAA access control, policy enforcement, data charging and network service delivery. Has a firm grasp of DIAMETER, RADIUS, REST, SOAP, JSON interfaces. Regular job functions will involve creation of design proposals, evaluation and test plans, configuration standard documents, and requirements documents. You are expected to provide tier-4 escalation support to operation teams. You are also expected to collaborate with operation teams to make sure related standards and procedures are followed.
This is an intermediate 12-months contract position, with possible extension or convert to permanent.
Skills and Qualifications
More than 5 years of experience in network systems engineering design, and implementation as applied to complex computing systems
More than 2 years of restful API development or Python automation scripting experience.
Unix/Linux system administration or engineering experience essential
Strong knowledge and working experience in RADIUS access control and authentication, DIAMETER, deep packet inspection, policy and charging control, content filtering, traffic shaping and policy enforcement
Solid TCP/IP knowledge, understand well-known consumer and social media applications traffic pattern and transactions, deep understanding http, https, RTP, RTSP, RTCP, and P2P protocols, etc.
Knowledge or experience of Sandvine PTS design, deployment, operation, SandScript considered an asset
Knowledge and experience of Ansible a plus
Exceptional documentation skills that can clearly articulate technical designs, issues and constraints, procedures, and network assessments
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
Strong analytical and problem determination/resolution skills
Self-motivated, Self-Reliant, Self-Starting, Go-Getter, Attitude of ownership, and A strong desire to learn
Must work well in an engineering environment that requires communication and collaboration with fellow team members, and cross function teams
Bachelor's degree in technical field required
