DevOps Engineer II (Cloud Platform Engineer II) is a technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-native platforms, automation, and software-driven infrastructure workflows across the organization's multi-cloud environment. This role combines cloud platform engineering and software development practices, with a strong emphasis on building API-driven automation, integrations, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions. The position focuses on enabling scalable, secure, and repeatable cloud operations through custom automation, CI/CD pipelines, and integration with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, GitHub, and configuration management tools. The DevOps Engineer II works closely with application developers, security teams, and infrastructure stakeholders to translate operational requirements into software based solutions that manage the full lifecycle of cloud resources. This role follows agile delivery practices and emphasizes rapid delivery of proofs of concept (POCs) that evolve into production ready solutions. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Writes, debugs, and maintains Ansible code.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Execution: Utilizes, maintains, and develops Terraform modules and AWS CloudFormation templates to deploy production-
ready infrastructure, extending established patterns to Azure ARM/Bicep to support multi-cloud consistency.
Software Development & Automation: Designs, develops, and maintains software-driven automation using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, or PowerShell to enable repeatable, scalable cloud operations and platform workflows.
Cloud & Enterprise API Integration: Develops, consumes, and integrates RESTful APIs to automate cloud resource lifecycles and connect enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, GitHub, and internal tooling.
CI/CD Pipeline Operations: Builds, configures, and supports CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable deployment of application code, automation, and infrastructure changes through automated testing and controlled releases.
Automated Provisioning & Lifecycle Management: Implements end-to-end automation for cloud resource provisioning, modification, and decommissioning, including VM creation and VM attributes reducing manual intervention for routine resource requests.
Configuration Management: Applies and maintains Ansible playbooks to automate system configuration, OS patching (RHEL, Ubuntu, Windows), and middleware setup while enforcing configuration consistency throughout the lifecycle.
Security & Compliance Implementation: Implements IAM roles, security groups, and baseline security controls, supporting CIS hardening and compliance requirements through automated configuration and policy enforcement.
Observability & Operational Support: Develops, configures, and supports logging and monitoring solutions across "hybrid cloud" infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, and GCP to maintain visibility into platform health, automation outcomes, and system performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works closely with application, security, networking, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot deployment issues, onboard workloads, and translate operational needs into software-based automation solutions.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Documents automation workflows, APIs, IaC patterns, and operational procedures, and mentors team members to expand shared knowledge of cloud platform capabilities.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Cloud Platform Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience managing and operating core cloud services in AWS and Azure, with familiarity supporting workloads in GCP.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Solid understanding of Terraform, including module design and state management, and working knowledge of AWS CloudFormation and Azure ARM/Bicep.
Software Development Skills: Proficiency in Python with working knowledge of one or more of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, and PowerShell for building automation, integrations, and platform tooling.
RESTful API Expertise: Demonstrated ability to design, develop, consume, and troubleshoot RESTful APIs for cloud automation and enterprise system integrations.
CI/CD Tooling: Practical experience using GitHub Actions, ServiceNow, or similar tools to automate build, test, and deploy pipelines for applications and infrastructure.
Configuration Management: Proficiency with Ansible for configuration-as-code, system provisioning, and ongoing environment maintenance experience with Ansible, specifically applying a "configuration as code" philosophy.
Experience with Ansible Automation Platform preferred, including administration and management.
Identity & Security Management: Functional understanding of cloud IAM concepts, including policies, roles, service accounts, networking controls, and security best practices.
Enterprise Platform Integration: Experience integrating cloud platforms with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow, CMDBs, databases, and internal automation systems.
AI & Automation Concepts: Working knowledge of AI concepts and prompt engineering, with the ability to incorporate AI-driven capabilities into cloud and automation workflows.
Workload & Priority Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions.
