HonorVet Technologies is seeking a local contract nurse Correctional for a local contract nursing job in Lexington, Kentucky.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Shift: 12 hours, days, flexible
  • Employment Type: Local Contract

Title- Registered Nurse

Shift length: 12 hours minimum per day. 

Minimum schedule per nurse: 2 shifts per week = 24 hours/week. 

Optimal schedule per nurse: 36 hours/week. 

Maximum: 40 hours/week per RN. 

Overtime: Not authorized. 

Place of Performance: Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington, Kentucky 

Mandatory Requirements: 
• Passed NCLEX-RN 
• ADN or BSN from an accredited institution 
• Applicable active RN license/documentation 
• Resume and proof of education/license must be available for proposal submission 
• Able to pass federal BOP/DOJ background and security screening 
• Able to meet TB/communicable-disease health requirements 
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and walk distances 
• Available for 12-hour shifts, minimum 2 shifts/week; approximately 24–36 hours/week, maximum 40 hours/week 
• Must be comfortable working in a federal correctional healthcare environment 

Primary Duties: 
Direct patient care, nursing assessments, triage, medication/insulin administration, IV medications, venipuncture, occasional blood-product administration, inpatient/ambulatory nursing, emergency care, chronic disease management, sick call, EKG/laboratory equipment operation, EMR documentation, infection control, and collaboration with physicians and advanced practice providers.
