Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)
Melbourne, FL

Overview:
Our oncology practice in Melbourne, FL is seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to provide outpatient chemotherapy care. Our role offers a consistent weekday schedule with no after-hours or holiday shifts. Immediate start is available for the right candidate.

Position Offers:

  • Schedule: Monday Friday
  • No after-hours shifts or holidays
  • Competitive compensation: $40 45 per hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and mix chemotherapy medications in accordance with established protocols
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs prior to, during, and following chemotherapy infusions
  • Initiate chemotherapy infusions and ensure accurate administration of treatment
  • Closely monitor patients during infusion and immediately post-infusion for response and tolerance
  • Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, side effects, symptom management, and infection prevention
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all care, interventions, and patient responses in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Implement infection prevention and control measures specific to immunocompromised oncology patients

Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted Florida RN license or compact state eligibility
  • Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience, including chemotherapy mixing
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred; willingness to obtain oncology specialty certification is an advantage
