PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a unique charter high school in Chicago, IL 60629 for the 2026–2027 school year.

This inclusive high school prepares students for post-secondary success and rewarding careers in architecture, construction, and engineering through high-quality instruction, real-world experiences, project-based learning, and comprehensive student support.

Position Details
  • Location: Chicago, IL 60629
  • Dates: August 24, 2026 – June 11, 2027
  • Schedule: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Pay: $45–$55+ per hour, based on experience
  • Setting: High School / Charter School
  • Teaching Schedule: 3 Inclusion Classes and 2 Resource Classes
  • Position: Special Education Teacher
Responsibilities
  • Provide special education support across 3 inclusion classes and 2 resource classes
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated, and student-centered instruction
  • Develop and implement standards-based lessons aligned with student needs and IEP goals
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers and other school professionals
  • Manage a special education caseload and complete required IEP documentation
  • Schedule, attend, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Monitor student academic, behavioral, and developmental progress
  • Use assessment data to modify instruction and provide appropriate accommodations and supports
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment with clear expectations and procedures
  • Communicate with families regarding student progress and development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement required
  • High school experience preferred
  • Strong collaboration, classroom management, and IEP/case management skills
