Job Description:

In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and develop innovative software tools and applications for powertrain controls engineering support. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software tools that support and enhance the functionality of our products, thus providing the most reliable and valued propulsion solutions in the world to enable our customers to work more efficiently. From the low-level hardware interactions to the high-level software architecture, you will be instrumental in defining the software stack for new and existing tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test and document software tools which enable & support the development & production release of Powertrain control applications.
  • Support, troubleshoot, develop & release software libraries used globally in production & service diagnostic tools.
  • Perform functional and unit testing, system validation, automated testing, and requirement to test traceability.
  • Solicit inputs & requirements from cross-functional engineering teams of Systems, Algorithm, Calibration and Validation engineers to develop existing and new tools designed to enable & optimize engineering workflows
  • Integrate custom-built tools & scripts into Software Change Management, CICD, and build environment tools off the shelf
  • Analyze software behavior to find root cause for unexpected or unacceptable operation.
  • Describe & present work results to peers and managers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science; or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience using C, C++, C#, Python, and Rust.
  • Experience developing software tools and applications for data collection and embedded controls programming.
  • Experience with GitHub for software version control & change management.
  • Experience using Visual Studio or VS Code Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Veristand and LabView
  • Experience with Matlab and Simulink tools
  • Experience with software quality processes & tools, such as CMMI and SPICE
