About The Opportunity

The general labor position supports production activities to meet business objectives and operates various machines. This person conducts safe, efficient, and timely production of products to satisfy the customer orders and specifications. The general labor position follows the supervisor's direction, works well in a team environment and follows all company policies and procedures. Positions available on first and second shift.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Practice safe working habits and maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Operate machinery and equipment as required, based on level of training completed
  • Perform process quality checks as appropriate, based on assigned responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and timely paperwork as required for the responsibilities assigned
  • Perform minor machinery and equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Assist other workers in the Production Department as required
  • Train employees of lesser knowledge on machinery, equipment, and responsibilities as assigned by the Production and/or Crew Manager
  • Perform other duties necessary to the efficient operation of the facility
  • Assist Maintenance employees when required
  • Treat fellow employees, customers, guests, vendors, etc. in a courteous, professional manner at all times
  • Other duties as assigned.

Currently hiring for 1st shift - 7am-3pm and 2nd shift - 3pm-11pm. Some overtime may be required to meet business needs. May need to train on 1st shift.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired

  • Good communication skills (oral, written, and listening)
  • Ability to perform basic math, including reading a ruler, calculating percentage over and under runs, counting loads and adding number of pallets for a total order count
  • Ability to read order specifications and complete (write) daily time and production paperwork
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to be flexible, a quick learner, and adaptable to change
  • Ability to be to work on time and maintain good attendance
  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks

Physical Requirements

Lifting, pushing, pulling and bending, with a minimum fifty-pound weight requirement. Some responsibilities require being on feet most of the workday, standing and walking a majority of the time, others require operation of powered industrial trucks with a majority of the time spent seated. May be required to work extended daily and/or weekend work schedules based on plant requirements and the labor contract.
