Job description

Job Title: GSS Mud Logging Analyst
Location: New Iberia, LA 70560
Job Type: Contract, Offshore (6 Months)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly Pay: $19–$20/hour (based on experience)
  • Per Diem: $35/day (for travel and standby days)
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Ground transportation available only for South Louisiana Candidates

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts, averaging 88–92 hours/week offshore
  • Typical rotation: 3 weeks on / 2 weeks off (flexibility required; may be 4x2)

Position Summary:
The GSS Mud Logging Analyst delivers safe, reliable, and efficient services at the wellsite. This role monitors well parameters, maintains data acquisition equipment, and ensures high-quality, accurate data delivery to customers. The Analyst identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, follows standard work, and participates in risk management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Describe lithology and rock samples
  • Perform sample collection
  • Support mud logging unit operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of offshore unit
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
  • Monitor, record, and process well data accurately
  • Compile End of Well Reports and other reports as requested
  • Professionally interact with personnel and customer representatives

Experience & Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience preferred; entry-level and recent graduates welcome
  • Deepwater experience a plus but not required
  • No specific software skills required training provided
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and schedule flexibility

Education Requirements:

  • Required Bachelor’s degree
  • Geoscience degree preferred

Certifications (not mandatory; can be provided):

  • TWIC card
  • RigPass / SafeGulf
  • HUET

Physical Demands & Safety Requirements:

  • Must pass fit-for-duty medical examination
  • Must comply with all offshore safety protocols and wear required PPE
