The position is hybrid working a minimum of 3 days in the office, typically Tuesday through Thursday, with the ability to work from home the remaining workdays. Candidates must be able to travel to plant sites when needed (approx. 6-8 days/month with ability to support longer durations).

Education/Experience/Licensure:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited university (required)
  • EIT (highly preferred) - or ability to obtain EIT within one year of employment (required)
  • Previous design experience related to modifications in nuclear (DOE or commercial) plants (preferred)
  • 4+ years' experience working with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant (required)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA)
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Additional software skills including Bluebeam, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Vault, Plant3D, Inventor, ReCap, SolidWorks, FARO Scene, and other 3D rendering programs (preferred)

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of deliverables for nuclear projects within the Mechanical and/or Nuclear discipline
  • Report to an assigned Project Engineer and act as a Design Engineer for Mechanical and/or Nuclear projects
  • Be responsible for working with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants and other associated nuclear facilities
  • Be proficient in preparation of engineering change packages (EC's)
  • Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures, systems, and components

  • Follow a strict adherence to mechanical codes and standards

Successful candidates will:
  • Possess the ability to interpret codes and, regulations, and standard practices
  • Be able to demonstrate adaptability; must be proficient in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within a nuclear power plant environment
  • Have effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing)
  • Possess excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers and internal team members under a matrixed organization
