Job description

Full Stack Java Developer

Location: Philadelphia, PA Position Type: Contract

Rate: $44 h/r. on W2 only US Citizen, Green Card only

Responsibilities:
  • Translate business requirements into architectural framework and design
  • Experience with full-stack projects and able to build a minimum working product quickly
  • Demonstrated experience in designing systems capable of automated scaling and instance deployment
  • A proponent of Continuous Improvement to refine and optimize the product.
  • Create, update and deliver modern web application using latest technologies
  • Full Stack Developer comfortable working in a team
  • Work with a strong collaborative Agile team
  • A sense of responsibility and ownership over the product
  • Build applications using ATDD
  • Research and propose new technologies
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated Experience with full stack end to end development
  • Experience with Scalable, fully automated systems design
  • Expertise in core Java and Spring Framework
  • Strong JavaScript and jQuery knowledge. Ability to create user interfaces and components that are modular, performance, and maintainable.
  • Knowledge and working experience with one or more modern JavaScript frameworks like React.js, Angular.js, Aurelia.js, Mercury.js, Meteorjs, Backbone.js or Ember.js.
  • Experience with at least one dynamic style sheets languages: LESS, SAAS
  • A sense of urgency and ownership over the product
  • Experience with RESTful Web Service/SOA Development
  • Experience with Formal Agile Development
  • Experience with Issue/Bug Management and Team Collaboration Tools, preferably with JIRA
  • Experience with Source code management systems, preferably GIT
  • Very good handle on database concepts. Experience with Big Data a huge plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desirable Skills
  • Thorough understanding of Spring: Core, MVC, Security, AOP, Boot
  • Experience with Visualization Libraries like D3,
  • Experience with DynamoDB, NiFi, Spark, Splunk a huge plus
  • Experience with Continuous Integration, preferably Jenkins
  • Good knowledge of Linux, Capistrano, Puppet, Chef
  • Experience with ATDD, Cucumber and Selenium
  • Experience with build and package managers, preferably Bower and Gulp

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years relevant experience as a Systems Engineer / Architect
  • Experience developing web applications in Java
  • 8+ years as a web application developer
  • Knowledge of cable/telecommunication/media industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction

Interview Process: Phone screen for 30 mins followed by 1 hour online testing then a 2-3 hour F2F interview. This is a group that tends to retain contractors year over year long term.
