Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

Land Development Senior Project Manager| Hybrid | VT

VHB's growing VT offices are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Land Development group. The successful candidate will work with our team of professionals to manage all aspects of site/civil engineering for public and private sites for our diverse portfolio of ski resort, real estate, energy, infill development, and state and municipal infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with integrated teams of engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects in developing site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude and public and private projects with a focus on sustainability and resiliency
  • Lead and assist with civil engineering for retail, residential, institutional, renewable energy and industrial site design including grading and drainage design, utility design, and site layout
  • Preparation and/or reviewing of design criteria, drawings and specifications
  • Preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation
  • Lead the preparation of permitting, design and construction documents
  • Lead, mentor and train junior staff
  • Project task financial performance, and management of projects
  • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues
  • Technical and design report writing

  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with other emerging professionals and managers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office, virtual, and field environment, in rural or urban environments
  • Proven strong work-ethic and self-motivated to produce high quality outcomes
  • Highly organized, and detail oriented, with ability to think creatively and formulate solutions in team environment
  • Knowledge of local and state regulations governing site design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study required, Master's degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)
  • 11+ years of professional site/civil design engineering experience, including consulting/private sector experience, required
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD required, GIS experience a plus
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license required
  • Solid understanding of the typical land entitlement process in VT including permitting at the local and state level preferred

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Vermont is $125,000-160,000. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
