LaSalle Network is hiring for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Storage Platforms) with a storage-focused, enterprise-leading company known for innovation and impactful cloud infrastructure.
Join a dedicated team managing software-defined storage solutions and enterprise storage platforms within a private cloud environment. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced storage and Kubernetes professionals to ensure high-availability, reliable data access, and scalable storage solutions. The role is contract-based, offering remote work with potential onsite collaboration near Chicago, Illinois. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Storage Platforms) will play a critical role in maintaining mission-critical storage infrastructures in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Responsibilities




  • Own and manage Software Defined Storage solutions such as Ceph and Longhorn, including migration projects.




  • Ensure enterprise storage platforms (Pure, HPE, NetApp) seamlessly support Kubernetes and OpenStack workloads.




  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage and Kubernetes issues in a 24x7 production setting.




  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure as code using Ansible and Terraform.




  • Develop automation scripts and maintain CI/CD pipelines for storage-related updates and testing.




  • Maintain enterprise DNS systems integrated with Kubernetes.




  • Support storage protocols including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NVMe-oF, and IP-based protocols.




  • Configure and support hypervisors such as Suse Harvester or OpenStack.




  • Provide incident response and participate in on-call rotations for mission-critical environments.




  • Document storage architecture and operational procedures, ensuring security and compliance standards.




  • Keep current with emerging storage trends, protocols, and security best practices.





Qualifications




  • 6+ years managing enterprise storage and Kubernetes platforms on Linux.




  • Hands-on experience with SDS solutions (Ceph, Longhorn), including upgrades or migrations.




  • Deep knowledge of storage protocols: Fibre Channel, NVMe-oF, iSCSI.




  • Proficiency with Kubernetes CSI and storage protocol integration.




  • Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS) in a production environment.




  • IaC expertise with Ansible and Terraform.




  • Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash; Golang is a plus.




  • Enterprise DNS knowledge, especially with Kubernetes integration.




  • Experience with hypervisor platforms like Suse Harvester or OpenStack.




  • 24x7 operational experience with incident management and on-call rotations.




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
