Description

Position Purpose:

The Mortgage Processing Specialist is responsible for gathering and processing all documents necessary to satisfy underwriting requirements. This role works closely with the borrower, mortgage loan officers, and underwriters to ensure an exceptional home buying experience. Demonstrates Civista Bank's mission to improve the financial lives of our employees and shareholders to make a difference in the communities that we serve.


Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities, and Expectations:

  • Review application files to verify data is complete and meets established requirements.
  • Collaborate with third party vendors to ensure timely ordering of any necessary documentation and services.
  • Manage complex loan pipeline to ensure workflow is appropriately prioritized and milestone service levels are met.
  • Perform as the main point of contact with borrowers during the processing of the mortgage loan application. Requesting documentation and information for the loan file while providing an exceptional Customer experience.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and MLOs to obtain and confirm borrower information. Submit complete loan file to underwriting for loan approval.
  • Navigation of customer relationship software, loan operating systems, and third-party websites in order to obtain necessary documentation and information.
  • All other duties as assigned and any activities that support the key accountabilities.


Requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Minimum two years of experience in the mortgage loan industry.
  • Encompass Software System experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of banking industry practices relative to bank loan operations with respect to mortgage loan products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Must have strong computer skills and proficiency with loan industry software, in addition to a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A high level of initiative, thoroughness, and accuracy required.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills with focus on teamwork.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruption; ability to balance multiple projects/activities with varying deadlines.
  • High level of confidentiality required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Work involves eye strain due to the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and filing.
  • Work involves sitting, standing, moving, lifting, reading, writing, speaking, communicating.
  • Work involves the ability to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
  • Work involves lifting and moving loan files of up to 30 lbs.
