JourneyTeam is seeking a high-energy, entrepreneurial Pre Sales Solution Architect to support our Data & AI Solutions team. This role is ideal for a hands-on data practitioner-someone who has built solutions in Microsoft Fabric, Azure data platforms, Power BI, data ingestion pipelines, or modern data architectures-who is ready to move into a client-facing, pre-sales career path.
You will partner with sales, Microsoft teams, and Data & AI delivery engineers to run discovery, design solution approaches, build light demos/POCs, and help shape deals that solve real business challenges. This is a critical, high-impact revenue-influencing role that lives at the intersection of technical credibility and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Solution Engineering
  • Conduct technical discovery sessions focused on Data & AI needs (ETL/ELT, ingestion, modeling, Fabric, analytics, AI readiness).
  • Design solution outlines, architectures, and value-driven recommendations that address client business challenges.
  • Build and deliver showcasing presentation (demos), prototypes, and light proofs of concept (especially around Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data services).
  • Translate business goals into clear, actionable solution paths and articulate value, ROI, and measurable outcomes.

Customer Engagement & Deal Influence
  • Present technical solutions to both technical teams and business decision makers (including executives when required).
  • Collaborate with sales to scope work, refine proposals, and accelerate deal cycles.
  • Influence pipeline growth, improve win rates, and support revenue goals through strong technical storytelling.

Microsoft Alignment
  • Engage with Microsoft ATUs/TSPs/TDPs to align opportunities and drive co-sell motions.
  • Position JourneyTeam as a preferred partner for Data & AI initiatives across the Microsoft ecosystem.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Data & AI practice leadership and delivery engineers to ensure solutions are implementable and aligned with best practices.
  • Support go-to-market initiatives, messaging, sales enablement content, and repeatable demo assets.

Continuous Learning & Drive
  • Stay current with Fabric, Power BI, Azure AI, and emerging Microsoft innovations.
  • Operate with agility, ownership, and entrepreneurial drive-embracing ambiguity and making progress independently.

Qualifications
  • 5-8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, or modern data platform solutions.
  • Strong demonstration of alignment with JourneyTeam values.
  • Strong technical proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Fabric
    • Power BI
    • Data ingestion & transformation (Databricks, ADF, Synapse pipelines, Fabric Dataflows, etc.)
    • Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Data Lake, Event-driven ingestion, etc.)
  • Ability to design solution approaches (not necessarily full enterprise architectures).
  • Strong communication skills in both business and technical conversations.
  • High-energy, proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to move fast.
  • Experience presenting to stakeholders and supporting technical sales conversations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of foundational AI concepts, Copilot readiness, and Azure AI services.
  • Certifications such as PL-300, DP-600, DP-700, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience in consulting or pre-sales environments.
  • Experience partnering with Microsoft field teams.

Compensation
Base salary of $150,000
On-Target-Earnings (OTE): $220,000
This is the established pay range for the Pre Sales Solution Architect role at JourneyTeam.
