Job description

Company Description The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) is one of the world’s largest and most experienced autism treatment providers and a leading non-governmental contributor to autism research in the United States. Founded in 1990, CARD serves individuals of all ages diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through centers across the U.S. and internationally. CARD uses the principles and procedures of applied behavior analysis (ABA), an evidence-based treatment method recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the U.S. Surgeon General. Role Description The Behavior Technician role is a part-time, on-site position based at a CARD center in Vancouver, WA. In this role, the Behavior Technician provides one-on-one ABA therapy to individuals with ASD, following treatment plans developed by clinical supervisors. Daily tasks include implementing behavior intervention programs, collecting and recording data on client progress, and assisting with skill-building in areas such as communication, social interaction, and daily living. The Behavior Technician collaborates with clinical team members, participates in ongoing training, and communicates observations to supervisors to support updates to treatment plans. This position involves working in center-based settings and may require supporting clients during structured activities and transitions.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis for implementing individualized ABA treatment plans.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and clinical team members.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Behavioral Intervention and Psychology to support behavior change and understand developmental and behavioral needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in psychology, education, or related field is beneficial.
  • Ability to follow clinical guidance, accurately collect data, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Capacity to work on-site with clients, including sitting on the floor, engaging in play-based activities, and managing occasional physically active behavior.
  • Reliability, professional conduct, and willingness to participate in ongoing training and supervision.
  • Experience working with children, neurodivergent individuals, or in a caregiving or educational setting is a plus.
