Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Software Engineer III to join a collaborative Agile team responsible for building and supporting modern Open Banking applications and APIs.
Summary:
This role will focus primarily on back-end development using .NET Core, C#, and REST APIs within an AWS-hosted environment, while partnering closely with front-end developers, product owners, and other engineers to deliver scalable, secure solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced software engineer who enjoys API development, cloud-based applications, and working within a mature Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Open Banking applications and RESTful APIs
* Build scalable backend services using C# and .NET Core
* Develop and support applications hosted within AWS
* Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Master, and fellow engineers in an Agile Scrum environment
* Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities
* Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following engineering best practices
* Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and application architecture
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
* 5+ years of professional software development experience
* Strong experience developing applications with C# and .NET Core
* Experience designing and developing REST APIs
* Working knowledge of applications hosted in AWS
* Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with OpenShift
* Exposure to React or modern front-end development
* Financial services or banking industry experience
* Experience supporting customer-facing or high-availability applications
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
