Duration: Contract to Hire - 6 months

Job Description

We are seeking a Jr Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java J2EE, PySpark/Spark, AWS services, and Agile delivery and a proven ability to design, build, and operate resilient ETL and streaming data pipelines in cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Java J2EE and data pipeline solutions.

Build and support ETL and streaming pipelines using PySpark/Spark.

Leverage AWS services including SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS for application and data workflows.

Apply Agile practices and participate in ceremonies to deliver incremental value.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proficiency in Java J2EE application development and common design techniques.

Extensive hands-on experience with PySpark/Spark and ETL/streaming pipelines.

Experience with AWS services such as SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS.

Advanced proficiency in one or more languages such as Python or Java.

Understanding of CI/CD, TDD, cloud development, application resiliency, and security.

Working knowledge across software engineering disciplines including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

4-5+ years of applied software engineering experience with relevant training or certification.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Shell scripting on Unix systems.

Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.

Familiarity with modern LLM techniques and practical LLM use case development on OpenAI Azure.
