Job description

Government Contracts Attorney


LOD at Consilio is seeking a Government Contracts Attorney for a long-term contract opportunity supporting the legal department of a large municipal government. This attorney will provide transactional legal support throughout the procurement and contracting process, working closely with internal stakeholders on a broad range of public-sector agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and revise construction contracts, professional services agreements, technology agreements, general services contracts, grant agreements, intergovernmental agreements, and other commercial contracts.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on procurement and contracting matters, including contract interpretation, legal risk, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review solicitations and related legislative documents as part of the procurement process.
  • Manage bid protests, contract disputes, construction claims, change orders, and contract amendments.
  • Conduct legal research related to municipal, state, and federal laws affecting procurement and contracting.
  • Support the development and improvement of contract management processes and best practices.


Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Georgia Bar in good standing.
  • Approximately 4–6 years of experience in commercial contracts, procurement, or government transactional practice.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract management experience.
  • Experience with government procurement, construction law, municipal law, technology transactions, or public-sector contracting is preferred.

  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
