Raytheon Field Engineering is seeking a Test Engineer II to support the Trident Integrated Support Facility (ISF) onsite in Pittsfield, MA (Western Massachusetts). In this role, you’ll drive the testing, troubleshooting, and validation of advanced electromechanical systems while supporting automated test equipment and production operations. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on work, data analysis, and collaborating across disciplines in a mission‑critical defense environment.

**This role does not provide relocation assistance**

What You Will Do

  • Perform testing, diagnostics, and fault analysis of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Support installation, qualification, and maintenance of automated functional and environmental test systems.
  • Develop clear and effective test procedures, technical documentation, and training materials.
  • Train and guide production and test personnel on equipment and processes.
    Analyze test data and performance trends; support root‑cause and corrective‑action efforts.
  • Provide technical support for hardware/software development and production test operations.
  • Conduct investigations for Out‑of‑Tolerance events and support impact assessments.
    Present technical findings to leadership and customer representatives.
  • Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with specifications and procedures.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with cross‑functional engineering, production teams and vendors.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with complex electromechanical or guidance‑related systems
    Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Background in defense, aerospace, or DoD production environments.
  • Hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, or maintenance experience.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or test equipment calibration
    Project coordination experience (schedules, budgets, priorities).
  • Active Secret clearance.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
