Job description

Title: TEST ENGINEER III

Location: Vandalia, OH (On-site)

Pay Rate: $55.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours/week | Monday - Friday (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Summary:

Join an advanced engineering team dedicated to developing, testing, and certifying cutting-edge aerospace and defense technologies. This role leads the verification and validation (V&V) of highly integrated systems, ranging from mission payloads to orbital space exploration components. Ideal candidates bring a strong foundational knowledge of engineering principles and a proven track record of executing formal manual or automated test procedures.

Description – Test Engineer III:

  • Develop complex test plans, procedures, and reports to demonstrate strict compliance with system and customer requirements.

  • Plan, conduct, and document thorough Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for both system and component-level new products.

  • Partner with multi-disciplinary design and development teams to manage requirements, system design, and systems integration.

  • Interpret technical schematics, utilize service manuals, and apply logical troubleshooting techniques to diagnose complex system issues.

  • Identify, generate, and process product non-conformances in close alignment with Product and Quality Assurance principles.

  • Act in a safety-sensitive capacity, inspecting structures, equipment, and laboratory vehicles to ensure security and operational safety.

Qualifications – Test Engineer III:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.

  • Typically 5 or more years of relevant engineering and testing experience, ideally within the Aerospace and Defense industry.

  • Proven experience planning, executing, and documenting formal V&V activities alongside requirements management and system integration.

  • Proficiency with various test equipment, testing standards, and methodologies (including manual and automated testing); experience with regulatory certifications (FAA, NASA, DoD) is a plus.

  • Full professional proficiency in English with strong technical reading, writing, and speaking skills.

  • Ability to meet physical demands, including working in an indoor lab setting, frequent walking/standing, repetitive hand/arm motions, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
