Job description

Title: Android Developer

Duration: 12-Month Contract 

Location: Plano, TX and Columbus, OH. (5 days onsite)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to build and enhance a modern, scalable mobile banking application. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, and modern Android architecture, along with a proven track record of delivering high-performance Android applications at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Build modular, maintainable features using MVVM/MVI and clean architecture.
  • Implement asynchronous and reactive functionality using Coroutines and Flow.
  • Integrate REST/GraphQL/gRPC backend services and implement offline caching and secure local storage.
  • Optimize application performance including cold start, frame rate, memory usage, and APK size.
  • Develop automated unit, UI, Espresso, and Compose tests.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, staged releases, feature flags, and production monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving lifecycle, concurrency, memory leaks, ANRs, and device fragmentation.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to deliver production-ready features.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Android/mobile software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on Kotlin and Android SDK expertise.
  • Production experience with Jetpack Compose.
  • Strong knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture.
  • Experience with automated testing and Android CI/CD.
  • Proven experience deploying applications to the Google Play Store.

Preferred: Gradle modularization, Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), Hilt/Dagger, Baseline Profiles, Macrobenchmark, and experience in regulated industries such as financial services.
