Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Systems Administrator (6-Month Contract) in Livermore, CA (Onsite).
Overview:
We are seeking a Systems Administrator for a 6-month onsite contract supporting a critical enterprise order management and fulfillment environment. This role is responsible for maintaining system stability, resolving technical issues, monitoring performance, and ensuring the successful operation of business-critical applications that support fulfillment operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT professional who thrives in fast-paced operational environments, enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, and has strong documentation and process management skills. This position will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to support enterprise systems and deliver reliable, sustainable technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Support a distributed order management platform utilized for enterprise fulfillment operations
* Provide first- and second-level technical support by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving system incidents and service requests
* Monitor system health, performance, availability, and reliability to identify issues and improvement opportunities
* Perform system administration and configuration activities to support business operations
* Partner with technical and project teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application and infrastructure-related issues
* Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and support materials
* Ensure timely resolution of incidents and delivery of sustainable technical solutions
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding system status, issue resolution, and ongoing support efforts
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process efficiencies and operational enhancements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and 2-4 years of relevant IT experience
* 2-4 years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, technical support, infrastructure support, or a related technology role
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues independently
* Experience supporting enterprise applications and systems in a production environment
* Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or operational setting while supporting technology systems on the production floor
* Strong documentation skills, including creating, updating, and following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and service quality
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Experience working with:
* OpenShift
* Oracle
* Linux
* Splunk
* Java-based applications
* Experience supporting enterprise platforms, application monitoring, and system performance optimization
* Familiarity with infrastructure support, incident management, and system administration best practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
