IT Manager โ€“ Manufacturing & ITAR Compliance

Sterling, VA

Pay From: $145,000 per year

MUST:
  • Experienced IT Manager โ€“ Manufacturing & ITAR Compliance
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in IT management or leadership role.
  • Experience supporting IT systems in a manufacturing or production environment (ERP/MES exposure required).
  • Working awareness of ITAR/EAR requirements as they relate to IT systems, gained through experience supporting an ITAR-regulated environment (compliance ownership sits with Legal/Compliance, not this role).
  • Working knowledge of CMMC / NIST 800-171 and DFARS cybersecurity requirements.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) due to access to export-controlled technical data.
  • Strong working knowledge of network administration, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or UAS manufacturing for a government contractor.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CISM, or PMP.
  • Experience supporting a CMMC certification or assessment effort.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
DUTIES:
  • Manage day-to-day operation of networks, servers, endpoints, cloud environments, and telecom systems across U.S.
  • Own IT asset lifecycle management, including procurement, provisioning, maintenance, and secure decommissioning of hardware and software.
  • Establish and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity plans for production and business systems.
  • Manage relationships with managed service providers, telecom carriers, and software vendors.
  • Administer and support ERP/MES platforms used for production scheduling, work orders, inventory, and traceability.
  • Partner with Production and Quality to ensure system uptime and data integrity on the manufacturing floor.
  • Support integration between manufacturing systems and engineering, quality, and finance platforms.
  • Lead evaluation and implementation of new manufacturing and business technology as the company scales.
  • Maintain working awareness of ITAR, EAR, and DFARS/NIST 800-171 (CMMC) requirements as they apply to IT systems, data storage, and user access.
  • Implement IT access controls, user permissions, and data segregation as directed by Legal/Compliance to support the company's Technology Control Plan (TCP) and export compliance program.
  • Configure systems, cloud environments, and data storage in accordance with export control and CMMC/NIST 800-171 requirements defined by Compliance, including for any government-furnished or CUI data.
  • Support internal and external compliance audits by providing IT evidence, system access logs, and configuration documentation as requested.
  • Maintain audit trails and logging for systems containing controlled technical data.
  • Own the company's cybersecurity posture, including endpoint protection, identity and access management, and network security controls.
  • Lead implementation and maturation of controls required for CMMC Level 2 / NIST 800-171 compliance.
  • Manage incident response planning and lead response to any security incidents.
  • Conduct or coordinate periodic vulnerability assessments and remediation.
  • Build, lead, and develop the IT team as the company scales, including help desk and systems administration functions.
  • Manage IT budget, capital planning, and vendor contracts, negotiating for cost-effective and compliant solutions.
  • Establish IT policies, standard operating procedures, and onboarding/offboarding processes aligned with export control requirements.
