Job description

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Interior Designer located in Fort Myers, FL. The Interior Designer will be responsible for space planning, finish selections, construction drawings, interior design, and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment).

Qualifications
  • Space Planning, Architecture, and Construction Drawings skills
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of comparable experience working in a design firm
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. RGA uses BIM and Revit on all projects
  • Additional drafting, illustration, and rendering experience is required
  • Ability to engage in a collaborative workplace, which may involve working alongside fellow architects and maintaining professional relationships with clients
  • Design professional developing skills in independent evaluation, judgement, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in the construction industry
  • Responsible for specific design tasks requiring research, evaluation, and adaptation on assigned projects
  • Perform tasks with minimum supervision and capability to create deliverable schedules, coordination with consulting engineers and interior designers
  • Basic Knowledge of interior design and architectural principles, practices and techniques as well as standard operations, policies and procedures of a firm within the A/E industry
  • Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, codes, and regulations
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to be proactive in determining the necessary steps to meet objectives and performance expectations of position
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
Tasks outlined, but not limited to those listed:

  • Provide creative interior design solutions for various project conditions by drawing on an expertise built on experience and education
  • Coordinate project teams of varying sizes and disciplines, effectively leveraging the strengths of the individual team members to guarantee project success
  • Responsible for space planning, test fits, and drawing modifications for assigned projects
  • Collaborate with project managers to set standards for the future production of all design deliverables
  • Research interior products and applies established interior design standards to achieve excellence in all projects
  • Research and select colors, finishes, and materials
  • Organized documentation of all correspondence with RGA's project team, engineers, and vendors
  • Supports business development activities through assistance with aids such as finish or mood boards, PowerPoint presentations
  • Maintains resource materials library including, interior design specifications, calculations, and industry standards. 
  • Manage and participate in all phases of projects including schematic design, design development, construction documents, technical specifications, bidding and negotiation, permitting, quality control, value engineering, and coordination of engineering disciplines
  • Research and select colors, finishes, and materials and FF&E items such as furniture, artwork, and signage.
