In this position you will provide senior attorney support as Program Counsel for designated acquisition programs. Serve as a single point of contact for program managers and contracting officials to answer legal questions addressing Air Force command priorities. Communicate and coordinate legal advice with other attorneys and the offices of General Counsel at higher levels within the Air Force, as well as other Department of War agencies and other agencies of the Federal Government. Apply advocacy and negotiation skills to assist program managers in dealing with suppliers on mutually agreeable terms. Participate in negotiations between the Government and contractors concerning legal issues. Advise on complex matters concerning major acquisitions by the Air Force. Serves as lead counsel and program expert to advise on acquisition law, fiscal law, intellectual property, business operations, and administrative law.

You must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accreditated by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD). In addition, at the time of application, you must provide proof, dated within four months of application of "active" status, in good standing, with a bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. Territory, of the District of Columbia. Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of laws, regulations, precedents and procedures related to Federal Government acquisition, fiscal, foreign military sales, and ethics law.
Ability to recognize and appropriately handle issues of precedent setting nature, sensitivity, or importance to agency goals, national and international security, or high public interest.
Ability to make legally sound logical decisions and skill in applying the law to specific situations.
You must possess skill in the presentation of and in opposition to evidence and arguments made in third party proceedings, with the skill in writing sound and persuasive opinions, memoranda, briefs, reports, plans, and pleadings.
