Job description


Join a compassionate and collaborative oncology team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. As an Oncology Infusion RN, you will play a critical role in the assessment, planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality infusion and chemotherapy care to patients throughout their treatment journey. This position is ideal for an experienced nurse who is passionate about oncology, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and values meaningful patient relationships.

The Oncology Infusion RN is responsible for the safe administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments in accordance with physician orders, ONS standards, and established clinical protocols while ensuring outstanding patient education, advocacy, and support.

Key ResponsibilitiesChemotherapy & Infusion Services
  • Safely calculate, prepare, and administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion medications according to physician orders and established protocols.

  • Review and verify laboratory values prior to treatment administration.

  • Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for reactions, side effects, and changes in condition.

  • Maintain current knowledge of oncology treatment protocols and infusion best practices.

  • Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and related clinical equipment.

  • Collaborate with providers regarding dose modifications and treatment adjustments when clinically appropriate.

  • Adhere to ONS guidelines and OSHA safety standards related to chemotherapy handling and biohazard precautions.

Patient Care & Clinical Support
  • Deliver compassionate, professional nursing care while maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.

  • Assess and document patient symptoms, treatment responses, vital signs, allergies, medications, and clinical changes accurately within the EMR.

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and supportive care resources.

  • Triage patient phone calls and coordinate care with physicians, care coordinators, and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Identify treatment-related complications and initiate appropriate nursing interventions promptly.

  • Support efficient patient flow throughout the infusion clinic while maintaining exceptional patient experience standards.

  • Manage medication refill requests and coordinate follow-up care as needed.

  • Serve as a patient advocate and connect patients with community and supportive resources when appropriate.

  • Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.

  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card required.
