Job Responsibilities: Provide immediate and skilled nursing care to patients in the emergency room, triaging and prioritizing care based on the severity of the patient's condition. Assess, monitor, and stabilize patients experiencing medical emergencies, such as trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and other critical conditions. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders, ensuring timely and accurate care. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive emergency care and ensure continuity of care. Perform advanced nursing procedures such as wound care, suturing assistance, CPR, intubation assistance, and other life-saving interventions. Educate patients and families on follow-up care, discharge instructions, and ongoing treatment plans, ensuring they understand the next steps in their care journey. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, treatments, medications, and progress in electronic health records (EHR). Respond to and manage critical situations, including code blues and other emergency protocols, following established hospital guidelines. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment to minimize risks to patients, families, and staff. Participate in emergency room quality improvement initiatives and stay current with advancements in emergency nursing through continuing education and professional development. Job Requirements: Strong understanding of emergency nursing care, trauma management, and critical care interventions. Excellent communication and decision-making skills to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Proficiency in performing advanced nursing procedures and responding to life-threatening emergencies. Active [STATE] Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Emergency Room Nurse or in a similar role. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred. Experience with EPIC or similar charting systems.
