POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Business Applications is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of business-critical applications, including Infor CloudSuite, Cerner RevElate, Altera Paragon, and Symplr sProvider. This leadership role involves managing a team of application specialists and engineers to ensure these systems meet the needs of key departments, including Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and the Hospital Business Office. The director will collaborate with department leaders, drive process improvements, and ensure optimal system performance and alignment with organizational goals.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, engineering or related technical field required
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of X years progressive experience in IT infrastructure and operations, including 8+ years in senior leadership roles managing complex technology environments
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Effective negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proactive problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and execute the strategy for managing and optimizing business applications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the needs of Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and the Business Office.
• Build, lead, and mentor a team of application specialists and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Oversee the implementation, configuration, and optimization of core systems, including Infor CloudSuite, Altera Paragon, and Symplr sProvider, ensuring seamless operations.
• Act as the primary liaison between IT and key business units, gathering requirements, addressing concerns, and aligning application functionality with operational objectives.
• Lead and manage application-related projects, such as new implementations, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Conduct an annual review of the application rationalization matrix to assess system performance, eliminate redundancies, and reprioritize investments in alignment with organizational goals.
• Continuously monitor application performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive measures to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Partner with department leaders to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation, streamlining workflows, and enhancing user productivity.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with software vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Ensure all applications adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies, maintaining data integrity and security.

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
