Project Manager
Salary Range: $100,000 to $140,000
Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for providing overall leadership, contract administration, technical expertise, and operational oversight for construction projects. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements, design documents, quality standards, and client expectations.
The Project Manager works closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams to coordinate project activities, manage risks and opportunities, resolve issues, and achieve successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall contract administration, technical expertise, and leadership for assigned construction projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project safety plans while promoting a strong health and safety culture.
  • Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with approved designs, budgets, resources, quality requirements, and schedules.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting on safety, costs, forecasts, schedules, and overall progress.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance tracking systems.
  • Review project requirements and identify opportunities for value engineering related to functionality, cost, constructability, and schedule.
  • Manage the procurement and administration of subcontracts, major purchase orders, and progress payments.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance, progress, quality, costs, and schedule commitments.
  • Interpret, communicate, and enforce contract requirements, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, changes, and opportunities to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through clear, timely, and professional communication.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities, including documentation, deficiencies, commissioning, turnover, and warranty requirements.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to project team members.
  • Promote quality management and ensure project activities comply with applicable standards, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Design-Build Responsibilities
Where applicable to design-build projects:
  • Monitor design progress and ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, coordination requirements, constructability, and scheduled deliverables.
  • Coordinate with design consultants and project stakeholders to address design-related issues and potential impacts to cost and schedule.
  • Support the development and implementation of design management and design quality plans.
  • Conduct or coordinate periodic design and quality reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify potential design risks, coordination issues, and opportunities and communicate them to the project team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 8–10 years of progressive construction experience, preferably with experience in a project leadership or management capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading construction projects and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental principles, legislation, and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, specifications, building codes, contract administration, and quality management practices.
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, procurement, and cost control.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction project management and scheduling software.
  • Strong aptitude for adopting new technologies, systems, and project management tools.
