Job description

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants. Excellent communication skills are necessary as you will interact with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with an elevated level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success. 

 

This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide coordination, planning, and supervision for MEP scopes of work 

  • Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service 

  • Plan and implement to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule 

  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability 

  • Review and understand contract documents 

  • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies 

  • Participate in the development and management of project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules 

  • Develop a site logistics plan 

  • Manage the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment 

  • Collaborate with project partner superintendents 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or 10 years trade experience  

  • Minimum 8 years of construction experience with two of those years having supervisory experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor 

  • Ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex data centerprojects 

  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks 

  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices 

  • Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level 

  • Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills 

  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies 

  • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback

  • MEP Superintendent I:

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 8 years of construction experience with two of those years having supervisory experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor

  • The base pay range for this role is $111,400 MIN - $167,100 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). 

  • MEP Superintendent II:

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 10 years of construction experience with two of those years having supervisory experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor 

  • 15 years of construction experience

  • The base pay range for this role is $130,100 MIN - $195,200 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.  This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
