Job description

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Decommission and Demolition Project Management for our Novi, MI office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. 

Your Impact
  • Manage project contracts, staff, budgets and schedules
  • Manage demolition and environmental projects, site characterization, remedial designs, and preparation of reports and other related documentation
  • Development of new clients
  • Network with new and existing clients to effectively position for and develop work opportunities
  • Prepare contract proposals and cost estimates
  • Manage field work for site characterization, site remediation, building materials abatement, and heavy demolition, including oversight of subcontractors, and sampling of building materials, soil and ground water in accordance with state and Federal regulations and protocols
  • Perform, analyze and report on specific project tasks under general supervision and research and recommend solutions to technical problems in accordance with accepted scientific/engineering practices and principles
  • Participation and collaboration with other WSP offices and staff on larger, multidisciplinary assignments
  • Work with and mentor junior and mid-level staff on demolition and environmental projects
  • Work effectively with team members as well as independently
Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or environmental sciences, or related discipline.
  • Experience across a range of commercial, industrial, and federal sectors.
  • 10+ years relevant experience with increasing levels of project complexity and management responsibility
  • Track record of performance in a seller-doer culture (business development/client management)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in State and Federal regulations and processes
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, strong desire to provide excellent, innovative, practical customer services and a commitment to technical excellence
  • Must be well organized, have the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time, deliver on time and on budget
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience for field contract services and hands-on training of junior personnel
  • Proficient in MS Project
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Some daytime and overnight travel is expected (20-30% of the time)
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree or other graduate certifications in engineering, geology, environmental sciences or related discipline(s)
  • PE or PG or other applicable registration preferred
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Ability to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam
