Contract

Full Stack Integration Engineer to help build the next generation of video, audio, and image capture experiences for a digital reporting platform. This role involves designing and implementing backend services that integrate with Azure OpenAI and Azure Speech, securely managing media in the cloud, and enabling intelligent, real-time data extraction.

The selected candidate will work closely with product, frontend, and cloud teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant AI-powered solutions in a modern Java/Azure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices for handling video, audio, and image uploads.
  • Integrate with Azure OpenAI and Azure Speech services for transcription, text-to-speech, and data extraction.
  • Design secure media storage and retrieval solutions using Azure Blob Storage and related services.
  • Optimize performance, latency, and reliability for both real-time and batch AI workflows.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers on capture/playback APIs and workflows.
  • Partner with cloud, security, and governance teams to ensure compliance and data protection standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in Java and Spring Boot backend development.
  • 5+ years of React frontend development experience.
  • Strong experience with Node.js, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure, including storage and containerized services.
  • Practical experience integrating AI/ML or LLM services such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Speech, or Vision services.
  • Strong understanding of secure API design and access control.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams and own solutions end-to-end.
  • Excellent communication skills with developers, clients, product managers, and QA teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and Git-based source control.
  • Methodical, detail-oriented mindset with strong logical thinking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with media files (audio, video, and images) and related APIs.
  • Experience with WebSockets or streaming audio.
  • Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
  • Experience working in regulated or highly secure environments.
