Responsibilities
Summary:
The Flight Manager is responsible for the overall management of the charter aircraft services for the assigned location ensuring all charter aircraft services are coordinated and scheduled in a timely basis, and sufficient staff is available and ready to depart to the scheduled locations. Ensures all operations are in compliance with federal, state, and organization laws, policies, rules, and regulations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that the charter aircraft services staffing plan is maintained according to contract guidelines. Makes final recommendations of new candidates to the Flight Operations Program Director for approval. Reviews all employment forms to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
  • The Flight Manager ensures and implements the policies and procedures for the charter aircraft services throughout the area. Develops training and mentoring opportunities to assist staff in carrying out their work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provides overall supervisory duties of the Flight Supervisor and Flight Security Officers. Approves scheduling of Flight Security Officers. Develops performance improvement plans for staff as needed. Proposes disciplinary recommendations when Flight Security Officers or Flight Supervisor do not follow the strict policies and procedures for the aircraft charter services. Recommends additional disciplinary action up to and including termination if Flight Security Officers' or Flight Supervisor's performance has not improved.
  • Ensures the continual improvement of assigned employees' knowledge and skills by facilitating training classes and material. Approves refresher courses to ensure assigned employees are knowledgeable on current policies and procedures. Promotes the charter aircraft services area within and outside of the location to attract new employees are retain existing ones.
  • Manages the charter aircraft services budget for the assigned location. Provides analyses and recommendations for improvements of the area.
  • Ensures that all reports and investigations of incidents are conducted and thoroughly written in a timely basis. Provides additional investigations if necessary. Maintains a location incident report record of all incidents no matter how minor.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and organization laws, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Attends outside meetings with organizational, federal, or state representatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must meet all the Flight Security Officer qualifications.
  • One (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Must be a United States citizen residing in the U.S. and able to obtain visas and inoculations required to permit departure from and entry into the US and all scheduled destinations.
  • Must possess a valid United States passport.
  • Ability to set standards and procedures to establish satisfactory levels of performance, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to coordinate the demands of the charter aircraft services operations.
  • Effective personnel interaction, communication skills, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to interpret complex written/oral communication, documents, and instructions.
  • Ability to make and implement decisions without assistance.
  • Ability to effectively train staff.
  • Ability to successfully complete all requiring training and certifications.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
