Job Description:

BlackVe is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to provide program finance, pricing, and analytical support across our government contracting portfolio. This role will partner closely with Finance leadership, Program Management, Contracts, Business Development, and other functional teams to support the day-to-day financial management of programs and new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate has strong government contracting finance experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage recurring program finance responsibilities while supporting pricing efforts, financial analysis, and other Finance initiatives as business needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide day-to-day program finance and program control support across government contracts.
  • Develop, maintain, and update program budgets, forecasts, Estimates to Complete (ETCs), and Estimates at Completion (EACs).
  • Analyze program financial performance, including revenue, cost, margin, funding, backlog, burn rates, and forecast-to-actual variances.
  • Partner with Program Managers to understand program performance, staffing requirements, financial risks and opportunities, and changes to forecast assumptions.
  • Prepare and support monthly program financial reporting and reviews, including variance analysis and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Monitor contract funding, expenditures, and burn rates and proactively identify potential funding or financial risks.
  • Support program and customer financial reporting requirements, including Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables, financial reports, funding analyses, and other customer-required submissions, as applicable.
  • Support proposal pricing and new business activities, including labor build-ups, indirect rates, escalation, subcontractor costs, travel, Other Direct Costs (ODCs), fee/profit calculations, and pricing scenario analysis.
  • Assist with the transition of newly awarded contracts from proposal assumptions into executable program budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Support revenue, cost, and profitability forecasting across various government contract types.
  • Perform labor, utilization, profitability, variance, trend, and other financial analyses to support business and program decision-making.
  • Maintain financial models, trackers, and reporting tools used to support program and company financial management.
  • Support annual planning (AOP), budgeting, forecasting, and other recurring Finance activities.
  • Assist with the preparation and validation of financial data used in management reporting and presentations.
  • Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and consistent across financial models, reporting tools, and applicable systems.
  • Support ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and day-to-day assignments as directed by Finance leadership.
  • Partner with Finance leadership and other functional teams to identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, analysis, and processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in finance, program finance, pricing, FP&A, or program control, with demonstrated experience in the U.S. Government contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting program budgets, forecasts, EACs, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Government contract types and structures, including Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), Cost-Reimbursement/Cost-Plus, Time-and-Materials (T&M), Labor-Hour, IDIQ, and Task Order contracts.
  • Understanding of government contracting financial concepts, including contract funding, backlog, indirect rates, labor categories, revenue, cost, and program profitability.
  • Familiarity with government contract pricing concepts and cost structures.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA requirements, and government contracting financial practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify financial discrepancies, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Unanet, including project financial management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and/or program control functionality.
  • Experience supporting government contract proposal pricing and cost proposal development.
  • Experience supporting multiple government programs and contract types simultaneously.
  • Experience partnering directly with Program Management, Contracts, Business Development, Operations, and Finance leadership.
  • Experience working in a small, mid-sized, or rapidly growing government contracting environment.
  • Experience working in a small, mid-sized, or rapidly growing government contracting environment.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
Location and Travel Requirements:
  • This position is Hybrid/Remote based in Herndon, VA with possible occasional travel to or Albuquerque, NM and other company locations or partner facilities as needed.
