Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring a PMP Engineer for a renewable energy / solar inverter and energy storage manufacturer in Houston, TX. In this role, you will develop and manage preventive maintenance programs (PMPs) for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) sites, coordinate with third-party operations and maintenance (O&M) vendors, and review field reports to drive corrective actions. This is a long-term opportunity with a recognized global leader in solar and energy storage solutions.
Location: Houston, TX 50% Travel Required.
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Work Environment: Office and field sites (utility-scale solar and BESS facilities)
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans and scheduling for utility-scale solar and BESS sites operating under long-term service agreements (LTSA).
  • Coordinate with asset managers, performance engineers, field service technicians, and vendor management teams to deliver structured maintenance plans.
  • Hire and manage subcontractors for on-site maintenance when internal resources are unavailable.
  • Audit third-party O&M vendors for onsite execution quality, training compliance, and alignment with company standards.
  • Review PMP field reports and develop punch lists of corrective actions for field technicians to complete.
  • Monitor site documentation and service contracts to confirm all maintenance requirements are fully met and properly recorded.

Minimum Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance service planning and scheduling within the energy industry.
  • Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technician background.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing or coordinating third-party O&M vendors in the field.
  • Familiarity with long-term service agreements (LTSA) and reviewing service contract requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin (bilingual candidates are strongly preferred).
  • Experience implementing scheduling tools or software to optimize resource allocation and field service delivery.
  • Background in enforcing safety standards, regulatory compliance, or quality assurance in field operations.
  • Exposure to customer-facing roles involving technical service plan communication or client requirement intake.
