Job description

**This is a 6 month contract role with the possibility of hire. This is a hybrid role out of Bloomington, MN with in office requirements Tuesday & Thursday. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**
Our client is seeking a Reporting Analyst to help define and shape enterprise reporting capabilities as part of a major Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) initiative. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to identify reporting requirements, document data needs, and establish a roadmap for future reporting solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical abilities with the communication skills needed to translate business questions into meaningful reporting and data requirements.
This is an initial six-month engagement with the potential for future opportunities as reporting and EDW capabilities continue to evolve.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify, gather, document, and prioritize reporting requirements
  • Facilitate meetings and discovery sessions to understand reporting needs and business objectives
  • Translate business questions into reporting specifications and data requirements
  • Define report metrics, calculations, filters, audiences, and reporting schedules
  • Collaborate with data, technology, and project teams to align reporting requirements with available data sources
  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and process improvement opportunities
  • Perform and support source-to-target data mapping activities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards
  • Validate reporting outputs for accuracy and completeness
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and support data quality initiatives
  • Establish reporting standards, metric definitions, and documentation
  • Support recurring and ad hoc reporting requests
  • Track project activities and communicate risks or roadblocks
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Reporting Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
  • Experience gathering and documenting reporting requirements from business stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of data structures and reporting processes
  • Experience translating business requirements into reporting solutions
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting reports and dashboards
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills
  • Experience working with both business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Dashboard development experience.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft Planner, ServiceNow, or similar tools
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting initiatives or data warehouse projects.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Experience participating in large-scale data transformation or modernization efforts.
