Hatch is seeking Contracts Specialists for its offices in Mississauga, and Calgary for upcoming projects. The ideal candidate should have management and negotiation skills with extensive experience in an EPCM project environment on capital projects specifically in the award and administration of construction and services contracts. Contract Specialist will be part of a team focused on the management of construction and service contracts and will have a significant contribution to the completion of the project. This will be a 12-month contract position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports the project procurement efforts in the selection of suppliers, fabricators the award of construction and service contracts,
  • Liaison with Package Coordinator to obtain and verify technical specifications, with the Planner to verify lead times and delivery dates and with Logistics to assure cost effective and practical required on site dates,
  • Control contractual change relating to cost and time,
  • Program monitoring (scope, cost, and time) and progress meetings,
  • Manage claim administration, payment certification and cash flow forecast,
  • Develop, process and implement contractual documents and change notices in a timely manner,
  • Administrate contracts in accordance with general requirements of contractual terms and conditions,
  • Maintain various contract registers as per project instructions,
  • Management of securities/guarantees,
  • Close-out

Requirements    

  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • 10+ years experience in procurement as Buyer/Contract Administrator of construction and service contracts
  • Experience with drafting and execution of commercial terms and conditions and understanding of accompanying legal implications,
  • Negotiations skills with an understanding of contracting strategies and implementation.
