Position Summary:

Provides support through headcount calculations, maintaining and updating the time database, layout updates, coordination and validation of layout changes, capacity calculations, flow definition and optimization, line balancing, workstation design and construction, continuous improvement projects, cross-functional support, and Lean Manufacturing tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct time studies and document standard cycle times for manufacturing operations.
  • Perform capacity analysis for production lines, work centers, and critical equipment.
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions and labor standards.
  • Create, update, and optimize production floor layouts using CAD or layout software.
  • Analyze workflow and material flow to identify bottlenecks and eliminate waste.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze production data to support operational improvements.
  • Support line balancing and staffing optimization based on takt time and production demand.
  • Maintain manufacturing process documentation, including routing sheets and process maps.
  • Participate in continuous improvement (Lean) initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and throughput.
  • Assist in implementing and sustaining 5S and visual management practices.
  • Work with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Track and report key manufacturing metrics such as OEE, labor utilization, cycle time, and throughput.
  • Support new product introductions by documenting processes, estimating labor requirements, and validating production readiness.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with ergonomic assessments and workstation improvements to improve safety and productivity.
  • Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Education/Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; plus two or more years related experience; or equivalent education and/or years of experience.
  • Formal training in Lean Methodologies.

 Skills/Knowledge:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Science or Math.
  • 1-3 Years of experience within the Electronics Industry or contract manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with Standards of Work, Cycle Time, Work Instruction Documentation, Capacity Calculations and Analysis, Line Balancing and Manufacturing Layouts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing or working within in an MES (manufacturing Execution System)
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 office suite, including Power Point, Visio, and Excel (pivot tables, charts, formulas, data analysis). 
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software for plant layouts. 
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to integrate well within a high tenured group
