Job description

EMG Technologist

Unit notes: 50 mile radius rule, must provide driver’s license at submit. Fingernail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract. BLS. High school or equivalent education. Registered EMG credentials registry by American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) required. The EMG technologist should be able to perform nerve conduction studies and autonomic studies on patients undergoing testing of the peripheral and autonomic nervous system (ANS). The EMG technologist has a background knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology of the brain, spinal cord, cranial nerves, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, muscles and autonomic nerves. The technologist should be able to conduct studies and work closely with the physician in both the outpatient and inpatient setting.
