Journeyman Electrician — Commercial

Irvine / Orange County, CA | Full-Time | $38.00–$50.00 per hour, DOE

Our commercial project load is growing, and we need a journeyman who can run work — not just show up to it. If you've spent years in the trade and are ready to take real ownership of installations from rough-in through final inspection, we'd like to meet you.

About Us

DMK Group Inc is an electrical contractor serving commercial clients across Orange County. We work on tenant improvements, new commercial construction, service and maintenance contracts and have built our reputation on quality workmanship, safe job sites, and crews that clients ask for by name.

About the Role

You'll be a lead hands-on electrician on our commercial jobs in and around Irvine. A year in, you'll have run point on multiple projects — laying out work, pulling and terminating, directing apprentices, and standing confidently through inspections. This is a role for someone who reads plans fluently, works clean, and doesn't need someone looking over their shoulder.

What You'll Do

• Perform commercial electrical installations — conduit bending and running, wire pulling, panel and switchgear work, lighting, and equipment hook-ups

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job specifications, and lay out work accordingly

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on service calls and active projects

• Ensure all work meets the NEC, Title 24, and local codes, and walk inspections with confidence

• Direct and mentor apprentices and helpers on your crew

• Maintain a safe, organized job site and complete accurate paperwork (time, materials, as-builts)

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 7 years of experience as an electrician, with substantial commercial experience

• Current California General Electrician certification (DIR-certified journeyman)

• Strong working knowledge of the NEC and California electrical codes

• Able to bend EMT and rigid conduit, pull wire, and terminate panels and gear to a professional standard

• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in Orange County

• Able to lift 50 lbs, work from ladders and lifts, and pass a background check per company policy

Nice to have:

• Experience leading small crews or acting as foreman

• Experience with fire alarm, low-voltage, solar, or EV charging installations

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Compensation & Benefits

• $38.00–$50.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications (approx. $79,000–$104,000 annually before overtime)
