Job description

Title: DevOps Automation Engineer IV

Number of positions: 1

Location: Arlington, VA or Tampa, FL (Hybrid role- 2/3 days onsite)

Contract or FTE

Qualification:

Cloud Platforms & Economics: Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including account/resource management, cloud accounting methodologies (FinOps), and cost optimization.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and SaltStack for orchestration, configuration management, and change control.

Development & Scripting: Strong command of Python, NodeJS, Bash, and PowerShell; experienced with SDKs, CLI utilities, YAML, JSON, and RESTful API integrations.

DevOps Toolchain: Advanced user of GIT, GitLab CI/CD, Jira, Confluence, automated testing frameworks, and deployment automation tools.

Foundational Knowledge: Solid grasp of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, firewalls), virtualization (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V), operating system internals (Linux/Windows), and system management.

Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to lead triage events, author after-action reports, mentor multi-disciplinary technical teams, and influence technology strategy across peer and leadership groups.

Requirements Engineering: Skilled at discovering and defining non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability, security) and translating them into technical solutions.

Communication: Exceptional verbal/written communication skills, adept at translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences and executive stakeholders.

Mindset: Team-first, intellectually curious, challenges existing paradigms, and passionate about supporting peers to meet aggressive project timelines.
