Job description

Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Java Developer position for our client.

Location: Phoenix, AZ or New York City, NY
Duration: Ongoing Contract

Duties:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and services.

  • Develop full-stack solutions using Java and modern front-end technologies.

  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through deployment and production support.

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.

  • Use Jenkins and related DevOps tools to support continuous integration and continuous delivery.

  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

  • Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

  • Perform code reviews and contribute to development standards, best practices, and technical documentation.

  • Support application deployments and production releases in an Agile development environment.

Skills:

  • Strong Java development skills with experience building enterprise applications.

  • Full-stack development experience across backend and frontend technologies.

  • Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.

  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and automated build/deployment pipelines.

  • Experience with Git and source code management.

  • Understanding of software development, testing, deployment, and release management processes.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on Java development experience.

  • Experience developing and supporting full-stack Java applications.

  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.

  • Experience with cloud environments and modern DevOps practices is preferred.

  • Experience with Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful services, microservices, and relational or NoSQL databases is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
