Element has an opportunity for a LIMS Development Lead to join our growing technology team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality LIMS solutions while leading and developing a team of engineers supporting our laboratory systems.

As a working manager, you will actively contribute to development efforts while providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and oversight of both internal and contract developers. You will play a key role in building scalable, modern LIMS solutions leveraging a mix of full-stack development and low-code/no-code platforms, with a strong focus on the Microsoft ecosystem.

This role partners closely with Product, IT, and laboratory stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned to operational needs.

This is a hybrid role: 3 days in our Blue Ash location & 2 days remote

Please note: Sponsorship is not offered for this opportunity.

Technical Delivery
  • Design, develop, configure, and support LIMS solutions and system integrations
  • Contribute hands-on development across:
    • Custom/full-stack development
    • Low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., PowerApps)
  • Lead technical design decisions and collaborate on solution architecture with Product, BA, and Architecture teams
  • Develop integrations between LIMS and enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, data platforms)
  • Ensure high standards for code quality, performance, security, and maintainability
  • Support troubleshooting, incident resolution, and production support as needed

Development Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of LIMS developers, balancing priorities and workload
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
  • Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and governance
  • Support Agile delivery including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and execution
  • Partner with Product Owners, Project Managers, and Business Analysts to ensure successful delivery

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of application development experience
  • 3–5 years of experience leading or managing development teams
  • Proven experience as a working manager balancing hands-on development with team leadership
  • Experience delivering solutions using both full-stack and low-code/no-code platforms
  • Strong background supporting custom or operational systems (LIMS or similar)
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with LIMS platforms or laboratory systems
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including:
    • PowerApps
    • Power Automate
    • Dataverse
    • Power BI
  • Working knowledge of Azure services and Microsoft 365 / SharePoint
  • Experience integrating LIMS with ERP, CRM, or enterprise data platforms
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern application architectures
