Job Title: Sr. Staff DevOps Engineer Location-Type: Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite per week, Charlotte, NC Start Date: Approximately two weeks after offer Duration: 18 Month Contract Compensation Range: $90-92/hr W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K Visa Sponsorship: Not eligible for visa sponsorship Job Description: This role serves as the embedded lead DevOps partner for a high-visibility line of business, owning cloud infrastructure strategy and delivery within a fast-moving, Infrastructure-as-Code-first engineering culture. Job Summary Lead DevOps strategy and delivery for a dedicated line of business, acting as the primary infrastructure partner embedded within the application team. Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, leveraging services such as Autoscaling Groups, Security Groups, Route53, S3, and IAM. Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, and related technologies to support a growing platform. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable daily code delivery and improve developer velocity. Manage and operate EKS/Kubernetes environments to support application deployment and scaling needs. Identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains across the platform, evangelizing best practices for the team's tech stack. Assess and implement DevSecOps services and solutions on the cloud, influencing key technical decisions and supporting their implementation. Minimum Requirements: 5-7 years of relevant DevOps or cloud infrastructure engineering experience. Deep, hands-on expertise with Terraform (non-negotiable). Hands-on experience with AWS CDK (non-negotiable). Proficiency with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline development. Experience with AWS services including EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and Kubernetes deployments. Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-direct in a small team environment with minimal oversight. Preferred Qualifications: Broad exposure to the larger AWS ecosystem beyond core services. Prior experience in a DevOps leadership or embedded application team role. Background in financial services or a similarly regulated industry. Experience shaping DevOps strategy at the line-of-business or platform level.
