Azure Engineer

Location: Hybrid – Work from either the Topeka, KS headquarters or the Leawood, KS office. Tuesday through Thursday onsite.
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Overview

You''ll be one of the go-to engineers for Azure and hybrid cloud initiatives, helping modernize legacy infrastructure, automate deployments, improve operational efficiency, and support cloud adoption across the organization. Success in this role requires both strong technical execution and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.

What You''ll Be Doing
  • Design, deploy, and support Azure-based cloud infrastructure
  • Migrate and modernize on-premises workloads into Azure
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and related automation tools
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Support hybrid cloud environments involving Azure and VMware
  • Implement cloud security, identity management, and governance best practices
  • Monitor performance, availability, and cost optimization across cloud resources
  • Create disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, compliance, and business teams on cloud initiatives
  • Document architectures, processes, and operational procedures
Required Experience
  • 3+ years of Azure engineering or cloud infrastructure experience
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments combining Azure and on-premises infrastructure
  • VMware administration or engineering experience
  • Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Ansible, or similar tools
  • Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, and governance concepts
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
